“Robust” is a furnishings system developed for waiting areas in public spaces.
The system consists of 3 sizes of shelters, bicycle racks with and without cover, a waste container, and a handrail system. The shelters offer different possibilities for sitting covered either alone or together with others, depending on the wind direction, light or shadow. There are no advertisements. Both the shelters and the covered bicycle racks have the option for built-in lights. All done in such a way that it expresses a visual coherence.
It should be able to stand in all environments, both out in the landscape and inside the cities without seeming foreign.
Emphasis has been placed on durability and anti-graffiti. The materials are simple and robust with beveled slats of Jatoba wood for screens and benches and hot-dip galvanized steel for constructions.
The system has proven its worth over the years, both in urban environments and out in the landscape, without significant vandalism. The simple construction makes it easy to repair any damages.
